Meet the Hartsville Young Professionals-Jordan

My name is Jordan Pupa.

I work for VIP Magazine, but also a little for Savvy Mag and STAY in SC. I write stories on area innovations and achievements, connect with businesses for advertising, and really just create news ways to promote the awesome area we live in through print. I am also a full time grad student in WVU's online Integrated Marketing and Communications program. (That definitely counts as a full time job too!)

My family moved to Hartsville when I was in the first grade for my Dad's job at Sonoco. I have been here (for the most part) ever since.

You may not know that I had lasik eye surgery in 2012, I enjoy baking and all crafty projects, and I am the Communications Director for HYP. I send all the e-mails (including this one, which is weird) and run the social media and website.

Three things you can always find in my refrigerator are Frank's red hot sauce, smart water, and baked goods.

My favorite Hartsville spot is College Avenue. I love to walk down the street and see all the unique houses.

My favorite Hartsville food is the crab and shrimp stuffed mushrooms at Sam Kendall's.

On a weekend in Hartsville you can find me hanging out with friends at Vintage, Retrofit, or the Mantissa rooftop.

I HYP because it is a great way to meet other people who are experiencing similar things in life as you are in a small town. HYP brings people together that you otherwise may have never met, and provides fun opportunities to do new things. For instance, this year already, I learned to play pickle ball and attended my first yoga class through HYP.

I love Hartsville because it has a lot of character and is constantly growing.

A Hartsville hidden gem that many don't know about is the maple, bacon donuts at the Markette!!!!!!
